Goaltending can be stressful. No doubt.
Surely, you're striving, trying for higher teams, better stats, and to move up the ranks over time. You want to be better, right?
With all those goals and dreams floating in your mind, it is easy to get frustrated when things don't go your way. Or when your team is really bad. Or when things outside your control negatively impact your ability to stop the puck.
It's hard to be a goalie. It's easy to get bogged down in the pressures of the team and parents and fans.
But what if you went into this season with a different perspective?
Keep your goals. Keep your dreams. But what if you dedicated this season to being happy?
What if you went to the rink each day with the sole purpose to connect with your teammates and build relationships?
What if you tell yourself before each practice, before each game "I am going to enjoy this to the best of my ability. I'm going to have fun with my friends playing the game I love".
What do you think would change about your game?
Start today. Or tomorrow. Whenever your next game or practice is, dedicate it to being happy.
Catch you later.
